Chromebook return for our virtual students:

As we are at the end of the 2020-21 school year, if you checked out a Chromebook for virtual learning, the Technology Department needs to collect them before summer so we can recondition and get them ready for use next school year.

You can return the Chromebook at the front parking lot of the East China Administration Building, 1585 Meisner Road, East China, MI  48054.  There will be a table staffed by technology department personnel ready to collect the Chromebook and accessories.

To avoid confusion, we ask that you do not take them to a school, but only drop them off at the Administration Building.

The dates and times to return your Chromebook are as follows:

  • Friday, June 11th from 12pm to 5pm
  • Tuesday, June 15th from 10am to 3pm
  • Wednesday, June 16th from 12pm to 6pm

If you have any questions or would like to make other arrangements to drop off your Chromebook, you can send an email to this account (ecsdsupport@ecsd.us) or call 810.676.1222 and leave us a message.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Wi-Fi & Internet Access

All district schools and the Administration Building have designated areas in their parking lots that are configured for free Wi-Fi & Internet Access.  The coverage area is highlighted on the map.  If you have a school device, it will automatically connect when you are in range.  If you have a personal device, connect to the ‘ecsdguest2’ wireless network.  After you choose the guest network, your device will be redirected to an authentication page.  Click on the “I Accept” button to continue.  If you are not redirected to this page, open your web browser to see if it then shows.

If you have questions, need assistance with password or login issues, etc.  Please use one of the three ways below to request help.

Request a Chromebook for use at home

For those students choosing the virtual learning option, we know there may be a need for a device, so we want to offer Chromebooks for students to checkout to use at home.  There is a limited quantity of how many we have in the district, but yet a decent number that we are hoping to make them available to those that do need them.

To make sure we enough, we are encouraging the use of home devices first and make a Chromebook request only if necessary.  There are more details on the request form with regards to device requirements, district policies and how the process will work for you to pick it up.

The resources below are intended to help students maintain skills. You will also find a link for possible low cost / free internet options.
