Being that Halloween is coming up, we wanted to remind everyone that all students at SCMS have a FULL DAY or school on Halloween Day. This is a full instructional day, just like normal. Halloween costumes are not permitted at SCMS on October 31.

However, in lieu of costumes, SCMS provides students an opportunity to showcase their costumes & celebrate in a different way, thus not impacting the teaching and learning instructional day. In the past we have held a Halloween Dance prior to Halloween for students. This year, on Friday, October 25, we will have 2 dances for students to celebrate Halloween and showcase their costumes. This times are listed below:

October 25 Halloween Dances

5th/6th grade dance: 3:00-4:30pm

7th/8th grade dance: 5:30-7:00pm

On this October 25, 5th and 6th grade students can bring their costumes to school, store them in their locker, and get dressed after school and attend the dance. 7th and 8th grade students must go home after school, but will be allowed to return for their dance. There will be a DJ, food, drinks, and fun at the dances. Cost for students to attend will be $5 and they must register for the dance during lunch the week of October 21-25.

Any questions, please call the SCMS office at 810-676-1800.
