Mark Eberhard has been awarded the Excellence in Education Award from the Michigan Lottery. The Excellence in Education Award program started in 2014 as a weekly award to recognize excellence among public school educators. Eberhard is combining the $500 classroom grant with other funds to purchase biotechnology equipment. He is looking to get a set of 10 gel electrophoresis chambers, which are used for DNA sequencing and comparisons. He’d also like to get a PCR machine, which will allow students to do experiments with their own DNA. Way to go Mr. Eberhard!
